WELCOME
TO LANDMARK PROTOTYPE RACING
|
With
its history of proven, up-front performance,
Rod
Everett and the Landmark Race Team are prepared
to race and win the Year 2000 Prototype Sports
Racing Car Championship.
Rod
Everett began his four-wheeled motorsports
career in 1982 as a successful racer through
off-road
racing at first, to Formula Fords and sports
racing
cars. As he became more involved in the sport,
he
combined test-driving with his engineering
background, while owning a Sports Racing Car
team. |

As Rod had retired from driving, 1991 saw the beginning
of his 7-year association with actor-driver Craig
T. Nelson. Rod's expertise grew as he fielded ACRL
racecars for Nelson and in 1992, he discovered and
coached eventual 1993 Championship winner, Rookie
of the year and Champ car driver, Richie Hearn. Rod
has devoted his life to motorsport and supporting
young racing drivers when possible. Rod's business
is motorsport. |

Those
two years saw Rod and his team move up to professional
endurance racing with a GTP Lights racer in the International
Motor Sports Association (IMSA) Series. In 1994, Landmark
took on the challenge of a World Sports Car development
project with Craig T. Nelson. A reputation for a meticulous
and well-organized racing team grew and attracted professional
racing drivers Johnny O'Connell, Darin Brassfield, Ross
Bentley, Boris Said, Mark Simo, Franck Freon, and Anthony
Lazaro in the following five seasons. |
In
1998, the Landmark team racked up several accomplishments
with the AVE Ferrari 333SP in the Professional Sports
Car Championship (formerly IMSA). The crew prepared
the car in only 3 days before it's debut at Homestead,
where it finished a creditable 4th after running 2nd
for most of the race. Through the remainder of the season,
the car finished in the top 10, with a season high of
2nd at the Petit Le Mans at Road Atlanta with driver
Anthony Lazaro.
Landmark Racing is a multi-faceted racing services company.
Rod believes that maintaining the highest standards
is the key to success. In order to control the quality
required, the team has found that in-house development
was an absolute necessity. Over the past several years,
expertise in composites, machining and fabrication has
made a great impact on the growth and success of their
racing team, in the technologically advanced environment
of motorsport.
Because of the quality and expertise of his Landmark
team of dedicated professionals, Rod expects nothing
but continued and improved success. "Our record
exemplifies our high standards and attention to detail."
"We finish races, we run up front, and we win."
THE TEAM
Like any championship sports team, the teamwork approach
is the way to build success. Landmark is built on that
theme... a virtual "superteam."
We invite you to join us. |
Landmark
is poised to challenge for the Prototype Sports
Car Championship in 2000. Landmark combines
the winning race team management and engineering
of Rod Everett, team owner; the extraordinary
driving talents of Chris Bingham; and marketing
partners, Yokohama, Park Place Ltd., Medtronics
AVE, and Landmark Motorsport Equipment. Landmark's
approach to motorsport marketing is unique.
The term "sponsorship" usually associated
with motorsport is a thing of the past. It outdated
itself by its definition; it denoted a one-way
relationship. The demands of business today
require more.

Corporations
involved now in motorsport are in one respect partners
with their race team. It is a marketing and promotional
partnership to increase sales and brand awareness. It
is a mutually beneficial working relationship that satisfies
each partner's business needs. Gone are the days of
putting a corporation's name on the car, going racing
and thinking your job is done. Landmark Racing Team
works with its partners on a daily basis. Proactive
not only in competition but, with promotion as well,
This is why Landmark's relationships are continuous.
This alliance is prepared to win for its clients. Landmark
understands that motorsport can create a tremendous
marketing opportunity. The team and the sport can provide
access to potential consumers of a company's product
or service. In other words, racing is a method, a device
by which you can reach your buyers. Even the team's
Southern California based workshop is strategically
located in order to benefit from the neighboring technical
industry, year round testing and corporate business
involvement. Rod Everett, and Landmark have been successful
in this business by "putting the servicing of clients
ahead of any other concerns, providing the best product,
and giving the biggest bang for the buck."
2000 became a transition year for the Landmark team,
continuing in prototype sports car racing on a limited
basis to fulfill sponsorship commitments. The team has
consistently run up front, recorded some fast laps during
races, and managed to wake up a number of competitors
and enthusiasts with sheer speed. This was done on an
extremely modest budget with the help of drivers Chris
Bingham, Mark Simo, Boris Said and Norman Simon, in
addition to the superior performance of Yokohama tires
and Lozano Brothers engines. Currently, plans for 2001
are in the negotiation stages with many decisions to
be made due to numerous changes in sports car racing. |
